NSK-SD
Natto, the traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans was invented in 1083 according to legend. It happened when Japanese soldiers inadvertently fermented boiled soybeans. They were out of provisions and were hungry, so they ate the fermented soybeans. They discovered that they liked the taste and natto was born. Nattokinase is a unique enzyme discovered in 1980 by Japanese researchers at Chicago University. They were look- ing for a natural substance that would promote normal blood clotting. Well, they found one when they isolated a specific enzyme in natto. They named the enzyme nattokinase. In 1995, we perfected a production technique for manufacturing our genuine nattokinase, NSK-SD. Along the way we were awarded two Japanese patents and three U.S. patents for this remarkable enzyme.
